What is the difference between dbx 260 and PA?
The DriveRack 260 has more processing power and is more configurable than the DriveRack PA. You can run the inputs or any of the outputs independently in the DriveRack 260. The DriveRack PA always sees the outputs as stereo (tied) pairs (with the exception of the low outputs which can be summed).

What does a dbx do?
These systems work by first compressing the dynamic range of the signal into a range that can be safely recorded on the tape. This type of compression, dynamic range compression, mutes down loud sounds and amplifies soft ones, making the volume of the recording much more even.
The 260 is a much better unit but it also opens up a greater possibility of screwing up the system because of it’s added functionality.
They seem to mostly do the same thing but the 260 has a better limiting, many more parametric EQs, and supposedly a much better EQ auto analysis system.
DriveRack 260 and Venu360 allow independent control over all 6 outputs. PA/PA+/PA2 models only allow control over output pairs, Low, Mid, and High.
